Small-group sewing studio in Farrer running after-school classes and holiday camps for kids aged 7 to 13; winter 2026 camp $205.

The Magic Needle is a small sewing studio at 4 Valder Place, Farrer, running sewing classes for children aged 7 to 13. Classes are kept to 4-5 students, children choose their own projects and fabrics, and projects include cushions, toys, wall hangings, bags and accessories, plus weaving and fabric painting. No previous experience or sewing machine is needed; all fabrics, patterns and tools are supplied. As of October 2026, after-school classes run Tuesdays and Thursdays 4pm to 5.30pm in weeks 1 to 9 of the ACT school term, and all places are currently taken. Holiday camps run over two afternoons; the winter 2026 camp cost $205 per child, and there are no spring holiday courses this year. Full payment is due on sign-up. Children must wear closed-in shoes. The studio is only open during workshops, and families can join the mailing list on the Contact page to hear about places.
