Silky Shapes Studio is a pottery school at 6 Prentice Lane, Willoughby, with classes for adults and children. Younger children make animals, tableware, homes, cars and sculptures by hand, and those 12 and older can learn to throw on the wheel. As of October 2026, kids options include a 5-week after-school wheel-throwing course for ages 10 to 17 (2 hours a week, 10 pots to take home) at $300, school holiday wheel-throwing classes at $95, 2-hour school holiday pottery painting workshops at $85 (parents can paint too or drop children off) and an all-day animal sculpture holiday camp for ages 9 to 15, 9am to 3:30pm, at $200. All materials and firing are included, and finished pieces are ready to collect within about 4 weeks. Bookings are made online in advance. Wear clothes that can get messy and closed-toe shoes, tie long hair back and bring an apron or towel.
