Historic observatory in Bickley with free Sunday afternoon entry, guided tours and night sky tours ($30 for children 5 to 17).

Perth Observatory at 337 Walnut Road, Bickley, in the Perth Hills, is Western Australia's oldest observatory. On Sundays from 1pm to 4pm entry to the grounds is free and includes the museum, safe solar viewing through solar telescopes (weather permitting) and a solar astronomy talk; no booking is needed. As of October 2026 a 60-minute Sunday guided tour is $10 for children 12 to 17, free for under 12s, $20 for adults or $50 for a family. Night Sky Tours last 1.5 to 2 hours and use telescopes to look at nebulae, star clusters, the Moon and planets; tickets are $30 for children aged 5 to 17 and $50 for adults, booked online. Space-themed Sunday Kids Workshops, done together with a parent, run on select Sundays. The museum, shop and grounds are wheelchair accessible, but the historic telescope domes are reached by stairs.
