Melbourne City Baths is a City of Melbourne swimming and fitness centre at 420 Swanston Street. Opened in 1860, it has a heritage 33-metre indoor Main Pool, the largest indoor pool in the CBD, plus a warm-water Program Pool used for swimming lessons. The swim school runs 48 weeks a year with lessons for kids, teens (12 to 17) and accredited sensory swim lessons for neurodivergent children; enrolments are in person. As of October 2026, a child (under 12) swim pass is $5.50 and an adult swim pass is $8.70; a 30-minute group swimming lesson is $21.70. Children under 12 must be accompanied by someone 17 or older, and under-5s must stay within arm's reach. Opening hours are 6am to 10pm Monday to Thursday, 6am to 8pm Friday, and 8am to 6pm weekends. A quiet, low-sensory hour runs weekdays from 10am to 11am.
